This was my Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary in San Diego, Ca in 1991. Everyone was so far away, but Aunt Jean wrote a letter to all of her siblings and expressed her thoughts that "this will be the last time we can all be together for a happy occasion." So with the help of their children all, but Uncle Harry, made it out to California. Some cousins even made it. We had an glorious anniversary party, followed by 5 days of fun and love and food and most everyone stayed in our home. I was so blessed and the younger children heard stories that will extend our memories forever. We had wall to wall rented beds after exhausting our guest bedrooms. Aunt Jean kept making ice cubes and making everyone laugh continually. Her prophesy was fulfilled. Aunt Alice passed away the following year. Followed by Uncle Harry and Aunt Peg. Last year, my Dad,Peter joined his sisters and brother in Heaven. The family grows out of our sight, but makes a place for us, as the Walkers certainly have a place and a table set for them in heaven. I am blessed to be a Walker and I have a pride instilled by my Poppy, Harry Walker, and reinforced by my aunts and uncles. They are always a part of me. Aunt Jean lives in my heart and if I listen quietly, I can hear her laugh.
